I was giddy excited to come home last Wednesday after knowing that my planner package arrived. As expected, it was the 2011 Starbucks planner from Starbucks themselves (also c/o NomNomClub).

I chose Metal because it's gray and the other two looks too dark for my taste, and I can say I'm not disappointed of my choice. I love the "feel" of the planner over-all, although it doesn't have features that I need compared with the bdj planner which is my first choice of planner for the year.

And since I'm not a Starbucks fan, at all; I honestly don't drink Starbucks (except for very few occasions). I found the planner not really for me, it being too Starbucks-y.

But since I got it from a writing contest with this post, I supposed this will motivate me to write more, which is one of my new year's resolutions for 2011.

Happy New Year!
you're my person

Raindrops keep falling on my head

Cristina: The clinic has a policy. They wouldn't let me confirm my appointment unless I designated an emergency contact person. Someone to be there in case and...to you know help me home after. Anyway I put your name down, that's why I told you I'm pregnant. You're my person.

Dream a little dream of me

Meredith: Because you're my person! And if I'm going to do this with him, and be whole and healthy and be a warm, gooey person who lives with a boy... I need you on board. I need you to cheer me on. Because you're the only one who knows me. Darkly. Really knows me. I need you to pretend that I can do this even if you don't believe. Because if you abandon me now, I will never make it, and I will never get my happy ending and that's just...

Cristina: Life.

Meredith: I'm saying please here.

Cristina: I think you and Derek will make it. You will make it work.

Meredith: Are you just telling me what I wanna hear?

Cristina: I am your person. I am on your side.

Since I watched these episodes of Grey's Anatomy, especially the first one, I was driven to have my own person/s.

My mom is a hoarder.

Not that I am a human being who struts without imperfections, but my mom really is. Of cute little stuffs but when put tens or hundreds of it together, we can totally open up a store of –

red ribbons,

Merry White Christmas!

If all things would happen as planned, this will be our last Christmas in our house. It was actually unnerving but exciting at the same time. Buying a house came with a big price like being frugal this Christmas. Even our Noche Buena, usually a feast of Pinoy food recipes boiled down to two or three Christmas food.
There are times when it's harder climbing down.

When you really want something, when you’re willing to sacrifice a lot to get it, I think in time the universe will conspire with your dream.

Or do you think I’m just too idealistic?
I'm on study leave until then..
Whenever I look at the clouds, heaven is not so hard to believe. :)

My mother greeted me with a rat encounter first thing this morning.

Yes, we have rats in our side yard. They somehow manage to find their way in the small yard beside our house where we used to keep our dogs which now functions as an outdoor garage with old animal cages and cases of beer and coke.

New York I love you: Ethan Hawke and Maggie Q

It was Prof Julian who said that we should already have a partner for our final project in Socio 1. It was also he who convinced us weeks ago to come asking for a partner way ahead before all the good classmates are taken. And yes, when he was saying all these things, I was either not listening or I was deciding what to eat for lunch that particular day.

We were watching The Orphan last night in HBO. I was supposed to be studying for my actuarial exam in December, but everyone’s watching and I didn’t want to be such a loser in my corner with reviewers piled in front of me. So I declared last night as another study-holiday.

I don’t like horror movies. I am always anticipating the bad things to happen, so I see myself frightened like hell before everybody else get goose bumps. And I keep my eyes half-closed in really terrifying scenes.

In one of the scenes in Orphan, somewhere near the ending, when we thought the worst is already over, Esther (the dwarf freak) came running with a knife in her hand, towards the lead roles. And boy, we all screamed.

Like: Waaahhhh!!!

With matching both hands inches from our ears.

When was the last time you screamed in a movie?

I must admit, we all had a good laugh after that.
I came across a blogger's post last weekend and I wanted to answer right away for a chance of a Belle De Jour planner but after reading her post entirely, I was more inspired to write a blog post than to comment and answer the contest question:

What have you realized in your life that is worth celebrating?
It was August last year when I bought my best bag so far: a big black Leonardo shoulder bag.

That day, I decided I needed a bigger bag so I spent my after work time shopping. I spotted this big black bag among other black bags in one shelf, I can’t remember if it was on sale but it was P700 and fits definitely in my budget. I stared at its bigness and blackness and behold, I liked it. The saleslady behind me insisted it’s a good bargain “maganda at matibay yan Ma’am”, she said.

Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow with Beatrice
Beatrice, 9-year-old schoolgirl from Greenwich, South London wrote a letter to Johnny Depp, addressed as Captain Jack Sparrow
The first time I heard and liked Barney Stinson was after I've seen this scene:

Everyday on my way to work, I pass a very busy intersection that delays my commute time for at least five minutes.

This intersection is a cross of a big private school, so scampering school buses and services in the area are very likely. The road to the right leads to our marketplace, and the road opposite that leads to our small district’s very big mall. That’s how busy it is.
If I could fly, I would fly by writing.

I wish I could tell you of a more worldly reason for blogging, like empowering women or teaching environmental awareness.

But I won’t.

Blogging, to me, is a lot more personal.
